RESOLUTION NO. 4989
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT
NUMBER TWO TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PUBLIC POWER
AUTHORITY JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
6 WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, City of Azusa, City of
7 Banning, City of Burbank, City of Colton, City of Glendale, City
8 of Los Angeles, City of Pasadena, City of Riverside and Imperial
9 Irrigation District have entered into the Southern California
10 Publi~Power Authority Joint Powers Agreement, dated as of
11 November 1. 1980, to create a separate public entity pursuant to
12 the proviSions of Chapter 5, Division 7, Title 1 ,of the
18 Government Code of the State of California, as amended; and
14 WHEREAS .,the City of Vernon pursuant to Resolution No.
15 4765 ado;Rted by the City Council on December 16, 1980, has agreed
16 to all the provisions of the Joint Powers Agreement and met all
17 the other conditions set forth in Section 13 of the Joint Powers
18 Agreement and has become a Member for all purposes of said Joint
19 Powers Agreement; and
20 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon pursuant to Resolution No.
21 4823 adopted by the City Council on July 21, 1981, approved and
22 authorized the execution of Amendment Number One to said Joint
28 Powers Agreement; and
24 WHEREAS, the foregoing pc:lrties and Members have entered
25 into Amendment Number One to said Joint Powers Agreement, said
26 Amendment Number One being dated as of October 1, 1981, and said
27 Joint Powers Agreement, as so amended, is hereinafter referred to
28 as the "Joint Powers Agreement"; and
1 WHEREAS, the Members des.ire to amend further the Joint
2 Powers Agreement pursuant to Section 18 thereof to, among other
3 things, specifically express the power of the Authority to issue
4 refunding bonds pursuant to Section 6576 of the Government Code
5 of the State of California.
6 NOW, THEREFORE, BElT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
7 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
8 SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
9 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
10 above are true and correct.
11 SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
12 hereby approves Amendment Number Two to the Joint Powers
13 Agreement, a copy of which has been presented to the City Council
14 concurrently with this Resolution, and the City Council hereby
15 orders said Amendment Number Two to the Joint Powers Agreement
16 to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
17 SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
18 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of
19 Vernon to execute said Amendment Number Two to the Joint Powers
20 Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of. Vernon.
21 SECTION 4: That the City Administrator is :hereby
22 authorized to. deliver said Amendment Number Two to the Joint
23 Powers Agreement and a copy of this Resolution to the Southern
24 California Public Power Authority .for, and on behalf of, the
25 City of Vernon.

SECTION 5: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Re.solution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of April, 1983.
