2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW PICK-
3 UP TRUCK FOR USE IN THE WATER DEPARTMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE
4 FOR BIDS FOR SAID TRUCK
5 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Ma1kenhorst, City Administrator/City
6 Clerk, by letter dated February 24, 1983, had recommended to the
7 City Council that the request of the Water Department to purchase
8 one new pick-up truck be approved and that the Purchasing Agent
9 be authorized to advertise for bids respecting said truck; and
10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
11 Resolution No. 4978 on March 1, 1983, approving the purchase of
12 said truck and authorizing the Purchasing Agent to advertise for
13 bids respecting same ; and
14 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Ma1kenhorst, City Administrator/City
15 Clerk, by letter dated April 21, 1983, has recommended to the
16 City Council that the bid received from Lindt-Wilson Motors, Inc.
17 be rejected and the Purchasing Agent be authorized to re-advertise
18 for bids respecting said truck; and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
20 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
21 to reject the previous bid and authorize the Purchasing Agent
22 to re-advertise for new bids respecting said truck.
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
24 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26 hereby approves the purchase of one new pick-up truck for use
27 in the Water Department.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
2 hereby authorizes the Purchasing Agent to advertise for bids
3 respecting the purchase of said pick-up truck.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
