RESOLUTION NO. 4995
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERRUPTIBLE
TRANSMISSION SERVICE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF VERNON AND THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND POWER
OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES
6 WHEREAS; the City of Vernon purchases power and energy
7 from the Southern California Edison Company pursuant to tariff
8 schedules approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has entered into an
11 integrated agreement to permit the purchase of economy energy
12 from Nevada Power Company; and
13 WHEREAS, Vernon and Nevada Power Company have had
14 problems transmitting energy on the Edison transmission system;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, the Department of Water and Power of the City
17 of Los Angeles owns and maintains transmission lines which would
18 enable Vernon and Nevada Power Company to make additional
19 economy energy transactions.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
21 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
23 hereby determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
24 true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26 hereby approves the Interruptible Transmission Service Agreement,
27 a copy of which has been presented to the City Council con-
28 currently with this Resolution and the City Council hereby orders
1 said Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
3 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
4 Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
6 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
7 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
8 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of May, 1983.
