RESOLUTION NO. 4998
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF ONE CITY
VEHICLE AS SURPLUS PROPERTY PURSUANT TO
SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
6 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
7 Clerk, by letter dated May 11, 1983, has recommended to the City
8 Council of the City of Vernon that one police vehicle described
9 as follows is surplus to the needs of the Police Department due
10 to extensive damages incurred in an accident that occurred on
11 April 10, 1983:
12 Unit 1/ 83 - 1983 Plymouth; , Black and White
13 WHEREAS, Frank Murillo, Purchasing Agent, has
14 recommended that this one surplus City vehicle be disposed of
15 pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code; and
16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
17 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
18 that said City vehicle be sold as surplus pursuant to Section
19 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
21 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of
23 the Government Code of the State of California, the City Council
24 of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that said City
25 vehicle, namely, Unit 1/83, is surplus to the needs of the Police
26 Department of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
28 hereby authorized to obtain bids pursuant to Section 2.31 of the
1 Vernon City Code for the sale of this one City vehicle as surplus
2 property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of May, 1983.
