RESOLUTION NO. 4999
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING JANITORIAL CONTRACT NO.
006 AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED
PROPOSALS OR BIDS FOR VERNON CITY HALL
JANITORIAL SERVICES FROM JULY 1, 1983 TO
JUNE 30, 1984
7 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
8 of the City of Vernon Janitorial Contract No. 006 for Vernon City
9 Hall Janitorial Services from July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984; and
10 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
11 Clerk, by letter dated May-II, 1983, has recommended to the City
12 Council that said Janitorial Contract No. 006 be approved and
13 that Frank Murillo, the Purchasing Agent, be authorized to
14 advertise for bids for Vernon City Hall Janitorial Services from
15 July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984; and
16 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
17 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
18 that said Contract be awarded in accordance with applicable State
19 law.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
21 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOTtlS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
23 hereby approves Janitorial Contract No. 006..
SECTION 2: That Frank Murillo, the Purchasing Agent, is
24
25 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
26 proposals or bids for Vernon City Hall Janitorial Services from
27 July 1, 1983 to June 30, 1984, in accordance with Janitorial
28 Contract No. 006 and in accordance with this Resolution.
1 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
2 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
3 City of Vernon a copy of said Janitorial Contract No. 006.
4 SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
5 tion printed, published, or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
6 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
7 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the
8 City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and
9 Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
10 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
11 City Hall of the City of Vernon located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
12 in said City.
13 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
14 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
15 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
16 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
17 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
18 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
19 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
20 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 7th day of
21 June, 1983, and in accordance with Janitorial Contract No. 006
22 approved by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
2 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
3 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
