RESOLUTION NO. 5002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5)
NEW POLICE VEHICLES FROM MAURICE J. SOPP & SON
CHEVROLET IN HUNTINGTON PARK
6 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
7 Clerk, has recommended to the Finance Committee of the City of
8 Vernon under the date of May 16, 1983, that five (5) new police
9 vehicles be purchased from Maurice J. Sopp & Son Chevrolet in
10 Huntington Park; and
11 1~EREAS, Frank Murillo, Purchasing Agent, has recommended
12 under the date of May 10, 1983, the purchase of five (5) new
13 police vehicles through the Los Angeles County Cooperative
14 Purchasing Program from Maurice J. Sopp & Son Chevrolet in
15 Huntington Park for the sum of Eight Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-
16 Eight Dollars and Forty-Five Cents ($8,658.45) per vehicle for
17 a total price of Forty-Three Thousand Two Hundred Ninety-Two
18 Dollars and Twenty-Five Cents ($43,292.25); and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
20 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
21 that a purchase order be issued for the purchase of five (5) new
22 police vehicles from Maurice J. Sopp & Son Chevrolet in Huntington
23 Park through the Los Angeles County Cooperative Purchasing
24 Program.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
26 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
28 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained herein-
, ,
1 are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
3 hereby approves the issuance of a purchase order in accordance
4 with the recommendation of Frank Murillo, Purchasing Agent, for
5 the purchase of five (5) new police vehicles frqm Maurice J.
6 Sopp & Son Chevrolet in Huntington Park.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of May, 1983.
