RESOLUTION NO. 5006
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF GMC TRUCK AND
COACH FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW PICK-UP
TRUCK FOR USE IN THE WATER DEPARTMENT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH PURCHASING BID #1203
7 WHEREAS, on April 26, 1983, the City Council of the
8 City of Vernon approved Resolution No. 4992 providing for the
9 purchase of one new pick-up truck for use in the Water Department;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Lewis R. Adams,
12 Director of Water and Power, and in reliance upon his recommenda-
13 tion, Bruce V. Ma1kenhorst, City Administrator/City Clerk, has
14 reported to the City Council by letter dated May 26, 1983,
15 recommending that the new pick-up truck be purchased from GMC
16 Truck and Coach on the basis of its bid in the sum of Ten Thousand
17 Two Hundred Forty Dollars and Thirty Cents ($10,240.30), which
18 includes tax, being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
19 purchase specification requirements; and
20 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
21 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
22 that a purchase order be issued for the purchase of One new
23 pick-up truck for use in the Water Department from GMC Truck and
24 Coach.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
26 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
28 hereby approves the issuance of a purchase order by the Purchasing
1 Agent for the purchase of one new pick-up truck for use in the
2 Water Department from GMC Truck and Coach at a total cost of
3 Ten Thousand Two Hundred Forty Dollars and Thirty Cents
4 ($10,240.30), which includes tax, and all other bids are hereby
5 rejected.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of June, 1983.
