RESOLUTION NO. 5009
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF AVE&~ON-LOS
ANGELES ECONOMY ENERGY AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF VERNON AND THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND
POWER OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES
6 WHEREAS, the Department of Water and Power of the City
7 of Los Angeles and the City of Vernon are engaged in the
8 generation, transmission, and/or distribution of electric power
9 and energy in the southwestern United States; and
10 WHEREAS, electrical system interconnections exist which

11 will allow scheduled interchanges of energy to take place between
12 the electrical systems of the City of Vernon and the Department .
13 of Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles; and
14 WHEREAS, both the City of Vernon and the Department of
15 Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles desire to establish
16 terms and conditions under which Economy Energy may be sold by
17 one party and purchased by the other party, thereby making more
18 efficient use of the electrical system resources of each of the
19 parties.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
21 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
23 hereby determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
24 true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of,the City of Vernon
26 hereby approves the Vernon-Los Angeles Economy Energy Agreement,
27 a copy of which has been presented to the City Council con-
28 currently with this Resolution, and the City Council hereby orders
1 said Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: That the City Co?nci1 of the City of Vernon
3 hereby authorized the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
4 Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
5
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
6 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
7 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
8 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of September, 1983.
