RESOLUTION NO. 5013
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ESTABLISHING DOG LICENSE FEES AND
APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF THE ANIMAL CONTROL
SERVICES CONTRACT WITH SOUTHEAST AREA ANIMAL
CONTROL AUTHORITY FOR AN ADDITIONAL YEAR,
JULY 1, 1983 TO JUNE 30, 1984, AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO SAID AGREEMENT
7 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
8 adopted an Ordinance providing for animal control regulation; and
9 WHEREAS, Louis S. Hauger, Director of Environmental
10 Health, has recommended by memo dated June 7, 1983, that the
11 City of Vernon renew the Agreement with Southeast Area Animal
12 Control Authority for animal control services and that the
13 execution of an Amendment to said Agreement would be in the
14 best interests of the City of Vernon.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
16 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
18 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained herein-
19 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
21 hereby approves the renewal of the Agreement with Southeast Area
22 Animal Control Authority for an additional year, July 1, 1983 to
23 June 30, 1984, and hereby approves the execution of an Amendment
24 to said Agreement, a copy of which has been presented to the City
25 Council concurrently with this Resolution, and the City Council
26 hereby orders said Amendment to said Agreement to be received and
27 filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
1 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
2 Amendment to said Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City
3 Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
5 establishes fees for the licensing of dogs as follows:

Spayed or neutered dogs.
Unaltered dogs . .
. $5.00 per dog
$15.00 per dog
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
9 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and there-
10 after the same shall be in full force and effect.
11 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of June, 1983.
