RESOLUTION NO. 5028
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4898 AND
SETTING FORTH THE CURRENT TERMS OF THE TRUSTEES
SERVING ON THE BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES
6 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18910 of the EducatioIl
7 Code and Section 2.34 of the Vernon City Code, Trustees serving
8 on the Board of Library Trustees shall be appointed by the Mayor
9 by and with the consent of the City Council; and
10 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.35 of the Vernon City
11 Code Library Trustees shall hold office for three (3) years; and
12 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4898 reappointed Trustees
13 Leonis C. Malburg and Thomas A. Ybarra to serve as Trustees on
14 said Board of Library Trustees for a term of two (2) years; and
15 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon intends
16 to amend said Resolution and reappoint Leonis C. Malburg and
17 Thomas A. Ybarra to serve as Trustees for the term required by
18 Section 2.35; to wit, three (3) years; and
19 ~iHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon intends
20 to specify the term for each Trustee and reappoint all Trustees
21 to serve the terms specified therein.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
23 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
25 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
26 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2,: That Leonis C. Malburg, Mayor of the City
28 of Vernon, hereby reappoints Leonis C. Malburg to serve as a
1 Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees to a term of office
2 which expires on June 30, 1985, and ratifies the previous
3 appointment effective July 1, 1982 through July 19, 1983.
4 SECTION 3: That Leonis C. Malburg, Mayor of the City
5 of Vernon, hereby reappoints Thomas A. Ybarra to serve as a
6 Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees to a term of office
7 which expires on June 30, 1985, and ratifies the previous
8 appointment effective July 1, 1982 through July 19, 1983.
9 SECTION 4:" That Leonis C. Malburg, Mayor of the City
10 of Vernon, hereby reappoints Hilario Gonzales to serve as a
11 Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees to a term of office
12 which expires on June 30, 1984, and ratifies the previous
13 appointment pursuant to Resolution No. 4813 effective July 1,
14 1981 through June 30, 1984.
15 SECTION 5: That Leoriis C. Malburg, Mayor of the City
16 of Vernon, hereby reappoints William Joseph Davis to serve as a
17 Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees to a term of office
18 which expires on June 30, 1984, and ratifies the previous
19 appointment pursuant to Resolution No.. 4813 effective July 1,
20 1981 through June 30, 1984.
21 SECTION 6: That Leonis C. Malburg, Mayor of the City
22 of Vernon, hereby reappoints William Mc. McCormick to serve as
23 a Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees to a term of office
24 which expires on June 30, 1986, and ratifies the previous
25 appointment pursuant to Resolution No. 5027 effective July 1,
26 1983 through June 30, 1986.
27 SECTION 7: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
28 hereby approves and consents to Mayor Leonis C. Malburg's

1 reappointment of Leonis C. Malburg, Thomas A. Ybarra, Hilario
2 Gonzales, William Joseph Davis, William M. McCormick to serve
3 as Trustees on the Board of Library Trustees for the terms
4 hereinabove recited.

SECTION 8: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
7 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
8 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of July, 1983.
