RESOLUTION NO. 5035
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
3 OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 459 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
4 OR BIDS FOR PAVEMENT STRIPING 1983-1984, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 459 OF THE CITY
5 OF VERNON
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 459 for Pavement Striping
8 1983-1984; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
10 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
11 Vernon that said Contract be awarded in accordance with
12 applicable State l~w.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
14 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 459 is hereby approved by the
16 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
18 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
19 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. ,459.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
21 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
22 proposals or bids for Pavement Striping 1983-1984, in accordance
23 with Contract No. 459 and in accordance with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
25 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
26 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
27 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the
28 City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street
1 and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
2 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
3 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
4 in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
6 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
7 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
8 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
9 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
10 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
11 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
12 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m., on the 6th day
13 of September, 1983, and in accordance with Contract No. 459
14 approved by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
16 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
17 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
18 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of August, 1983.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Vernon, hereinafter
"Agencyll invites and will receive sealed proposals (Bids) up to the
hour of two (2) o'clock p.m., on September 6s 1983 for the furnishing
to said agency of all transportation equipment, materials, supplies
and services necessary in order to provide traffic pavement striping
1983-84, Contract No. 459.
At said time, proposals will be publicly opened and announced
at the offices of the Agency. Said bids shall conform to and be
responsive to the contract documents for said work as heretofore
provided by satd Agency and must be accompanied by the security
referred to therein ~
any and all bids.
