RESOLUTION NO. 5039
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF COMPUTER
HARDWARE AND MUNICIPAL SOFTI'JARE, PHASE I,
FROM HEWLETT PACKARD COMPANY AND GEORGE TAMAS
AND ASSOCIATES, RESPECTIVELY, FOR USE IN THE
CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE
PURCHASE ORDERS FOR SAID ITEMS
7 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
8 Clerk, on September 1, 1983, recommended the purchase of computer
9 hardware and municipal software, Phase I, from Hewlett Packard
10 Company and George Tamas and Associates, respectively, at a
11 price of $71,769.87 and $42,081.00 for a total price of
12 $113,850.87 for use in the City Administrator/City Clerk
13 Department; and
14 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
15 determined that it is in the public interest and necessity that
16 purchase orders be issued for the purchase of said computer
17 hardware and municipal software without compliance with the forma
18 contract procedures set forth in Section 2.27 of the Vernon City
19 Code as amended by Ordinance No. 939 adopted by the City Council
20 on August 2, 1983; and
21 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires
22 to waive such formal contract procedures.
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
24 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
25 SECTION 1: ' That the City Council of the City of Vernon
26 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
27 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon

1 hereby approves the purchase of computer hardware and municipal
2 software, Phase I, from Hewlett Packard Company and George Tamas
3 and Associates, respectively, for a total price of $113,850.87
4 for use in the City Administrator/City Clerk Department and
5 authorizes the Purchasing Agent to issue purchase orders in
6 accordance herewith.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
8 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
9 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
10 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of September, 1983.
