RESOLUTION NO. 5043
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF PACIFIC STRIPING
FOR PAVEMENT STRIPING 1983-1984 IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 459 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 459 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 5035, and sealed bids were opened on September 6,
9 1983; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Victor H. Vaits,
11 Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
12 Council under the date of September 12, 1983, recommending that
13 the contract for Pavement Striping 1983-1984 be executed with
14 Pacific Striping on the basis of its bid in the sum of Twenty
15 Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-Eight Dollars and 'Forty-Seven Cents
16 ($20,838.47), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
17 contract requirements.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
21 hereby award Contract No. 459, in accordance with the recommenda-
22 tion of Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services, and
23 authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the
24 City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
26 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
27 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
28 the receipt of an executed contract from Pacific Striping

1 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
3 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
4 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
5 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of September, 1983.
