RESOLUTION NO. 5047
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SULLY-MILLER
CONTRACTING COMPANY FOR DISTRICT AT ATLANTIC
IMPROVEMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO.
458 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE
EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 458 of the City of Vernon was
8 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
9 Resolution No. 5038, and sealed bids were opened on September 20,
10 1983; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Victor H. Vaits,
12 Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
13 Council under the date of September 21, 1983, recommending that
14 the contract for District at Atlantic Improvements be executed
15 with Sully-Miller Contracting Company on the basis of its bid
16 in the sum of Eighty-Four Thousand Forty-Four Dollars and Eighty-
17 Three Cents ($84,044.83), being the lowest responsible bid
18 meeting the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
20 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
22 hereby award Contract No. 458, in accordance with the recommenda-
23 tion of Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services, and
24 authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the
25 City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
27 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
28 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
1 the receipt of an executed contract from Sully-Miller Contracting
2 Company accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
5 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
6 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of October, 1983.
