RESOLUTION NO. 5057
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 460 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION,
SANTA FE AVENUE AND 37TH-38TH STREET, DISTRICT
BOULEVARD AND LOHA VISTA AVENUE, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 460 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
7 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
8 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 460 for Traffic Signal
9 Modernization, Santa Fe Avenue and 37th-38th Street, District
10 Boulevard and Loma Vis ta Avenue; and
11 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
12 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
13 that said contract be awarded in accordance '.vith applicable
14 State law.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
16 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 460 is hereby approved by the
18 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
20 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
21 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 460.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
23 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
24 proposals or bids for Traffic Signal Modernization, Santa Fe
25 Avenue and 37th-38th Street, District Boulevard and Loma Vista
26 Avenue, in accordance with Contract No. 460 and in accordance
27 with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
1 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
2 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice" or to cause
3 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the
4 City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and
5 Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
6 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby.of the
7 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
8 in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
10 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
11 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
12 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
13 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
14 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
15 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
16 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m., on the 15th day
17 of November, 1983, and in accordance with Contract No. 460
18 approved by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
20 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
21 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
22 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of November, 1983.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CITY OF VERNON, (hereinafter IIAg.ency)
invites and will receive sealed proposals (Bids) up to the hour of two
(2) o'clock P.M., November 15, 1983 for the furnishing to said Agency of
all transportation equipment, materials, supplies and services necessary
in order to provide traffic signa1 installation, Santa Fe Avenue and
37th - 38th Street, District Boulevard and Loma Vista Avenue, Contract
~lo . 460.
At said time, proposals will be pUblicly opened and announced at
the offices of the Agency. Said bids shall conform to and be responsive
to the contract documents for said works as heretofore provided by said
Agency and must be accompanied by the securi'ty referred to therein.
The governing body of he.Agency reserves the right to reject any
and all bids.,
