RESOLUTION NO. 5062
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF STEINY ,& COMPANY,
INC. FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION, SANTA FE
AVENUE AND 37TH-38TH STREET, DISTRICT BOULEVARD
AND LaMA VISTA AVENUE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 460 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 460 of the City of Vernon was
8 approved by the City Council of tbe City of Vernon, pursuant to
9 Resolution No. 5057, and sealed bids were opened on November 15,
10 1983; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Victor H. Vaits,
12 Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
13 Council under the date of November 16, 1983, recommending that
14 the contract for Traffic Signal Modernization, Santa Fe Avenue
15 and 37th-38th Street, District Boulevard and Loma Vista Avenue
16 be executed with Steiny & Company, Inc. on the basis of its
17 bid in the sum of Thirty-Five Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-Five
18 Dollars and No Cents ($35,865.00), being the lowest responsible
19 bid meeting the contract requirements.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
21 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
23 hereby award Contract No. 460, in accordance with the recommenda-'
24 tion of Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services, and
25 authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the
26 City.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
28 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders

1 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
2 the receipt of an executed contract from Steiny & Company, Inc.,
3 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
5 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
6 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
7 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of December, 1983.
