RESOLUTION NO. 5064
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES
PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF NONFIRM ENERGY
6 WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Water
7 Resources has available surplus energy to sell to public
8 entities within the State of California; and
9 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is interested in buying
10 surplus energy from the Department of Water Resources at prices
11 less than the prices charged by Southern California Edison
12 Company; and
13 WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement would permit
14 Vernon to purchase said surplus nonfirm energy.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
16 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
18 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
19 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
21 hereby approves the Agreement, a copy of which has been presented
22 to the City Council concurrently with this Resolution and the
23 City Council hereby orders said Agreement to be received and
24 filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of
26 Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute
27 said Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
1 hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution
2 and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
3 and effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of December, 1983.
