RESOLUTION NO. 5070
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
3 OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL
4 ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE C~TY ON TUESDAY,
APRIL 10, 1984, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN
5 OFFICERS OF THE CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE
PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF
6 CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES
7 WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to
8 General Law Cities in the State of California, a general
9 municipal election shall be held on April 10, 1984, for the
10 election of Municipal Officers.
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
12 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the
14 laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities
15 within the State, there is called and ordered held in the City
16 of Vernon, California, on Tuesday, April 10, 1984, a general
17 municipal election of the qualified electors of the City for
18 the purpose of electing two (2) members of the City Council of
19 the City for the full term of four (4) years.

SECTION 2: That the ballots to be used at the election
21 shall be, in form and content, such as may be required by law
22 to be used in the election.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City is
24 authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any
25 and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all
26 supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in
27 order to properly and lawfully conduct the election.

SECTION 4: Pursuant to Section 1340 of the California
1 Elections Code, the election will be conducted entirely by
2 absent voter ballots. The City Hall is hereby designated as
3 the polling place pursuant to Section 1014 of the Elections Code.

SECTION 5: That the polling place for said election
5 shall be open at 7:30 a.m. of the day of the election and shall
6 remain open continuously from that time until 5:00 p.m. of the
7 same day when the poll shall be closed, except as provided in
8 Section 14301 of the Elections Code of the State of California.

SECTION 6: That in all particulars not recited in this
10 Resolution, the election shall be held and conducted as provided
11 by law for holding municipal elections in the City.

SECTION 7: That notice of the time and place of
13 holding the election is given and the City Clerk is authorized,
14 instructed and directed to give such further or additional
15 notice of the election, in time, form and manner as required by
16 law.

SECTION 8: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
18 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
19 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
20 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of December, 1983.
