RESOLUTION NO. 5077
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON COMMENDING AND HONORING WALTER E.
GARRISON FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING
SERVICE IN THE COUNTY SANITATION DISTRICTS
OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY
6 WHEREAS, Walter E. Garrison has been a member of the
7 engineering staff of the County Sanitation Districts of Los
8 Angeles County in various capacities since 1948; and
9 WHEREAS, Walter E. Garrison served for twelve (12)
10 years as Assistant Chief Engineer and Assistant General Manager
11 of the. Co.unty Sanitation Districts af Los Angeles County and
12 wasappoint~d Chief Engineer and General Manager in January af
13 1979 in recognition of his outstanding ;;>ervice to. the Caunty
14 Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County; and
15 WHEREAS, Mr. Garrisan has served the area encompassed
16 within his jurisdiction favorably and with great dedicatian to.
17 the welfare af the residents of said cities in said area; and
18 WHEREAS, .many citizensaf the City of Vernon have
19 benefitedtrom the leadership af Mr. Garrisan in the County
20 Sanitation Districts af Los Angeles County; and
21 WHEREAS, the campetence, ability, layalty and
22 outstanding service by Walter E. Garrisan to. the City of Vernon,
23 its inhabitants and the industry of the City af Vernon is
24 gratefullyacknawledged; and
25 WHEREAS, effective January 27, 1984, .Walter E. Garrison
26 will retire fram said service; and
27 WHEREAS, the City Council af the City af Vernan
28 individually" . collectively and an behalf of the peaple af the
1 City of Vernon wish to reaffirm its appreciation and express
2 its gratitude to Walter E. Garrison for his high personal
3 dedication to his pJ::'ofessionand to the people of the City of
4 Vernon as evidenced by his long and outstanding service to
5 the community and wish to invite public notice of his
6 contributions and achievements and to also extend congratulations
7 to his family.
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
9 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
11 wishes to take this opportunity to commend and congratulate
12 Walter E. Garrison for his many yeaJ::'S of outstanding service
13 to the City of Vernon, its inhabitants, and the industJ::'Y of
I4 the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of VeJ::'non
16 wishes walter E. GarJ::'ison continued success in whatever endeavors
17 he may undeJ::'take in the future.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of VeJ::'non
19 hereby extends its appreciation to walteJ::' E. GaJ::'J::'ison foJ::' his
20 outstanding and distinguished seJ::'vice to the needs of the
21 VeJ::'non community.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of VeJ::'non shall
ceJ::'tify t.o the passage of this Resol)J.tion and pJ::'esent a certified
copy thereof to Walter E. Garrison and that thereupon and theJ::'e-
afteJ::' the same shall be in full force and effect.
