RESOLUTION NO. 5079
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW
RESCUE VEHICLE FOR THE VERNON FIRE DEPARTMENT
FROM STONER AMBULANCE MANUFACTURING COMPANY
AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE
ORDER FOR SAID ITEM
7 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
8 Clerk, on January 12, 1984, recommended the purchase of a new
9 rescue vehicle for the Vernon Fire Department from Stoner
10 Ambulance Manufacturing Company at a cost of Thirty-Three
11 Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-Eight Dollars and Fifty-Eight Cents
12 ($33,258.58), not including ppplicable license fees; and
13 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
14 determined that it is in the public interest and necessity that
15 a purchase order be issued for the purchase of the new rescue
16 vehicle for the Vernon Fire Department without compliance with
17 the formal contract procedures set forth in Section 2.27 of the
18 Vernon City Code as amended by Ordinance No. 939 adopted by the
19 City Council on August 2, 1983; and
20 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires
21 to waive such formal contract procedures.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
23 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
25 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
26 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves the purchase of a new rescue vehicle for the
1 Vernon Fire Department from Stoner Ambulance Manufacturing
2 Company at a cost of Thirty-Three Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-
3 Eight Dollars and Fifty-Eight Cents ($33,258.58), not including
4 applicable license fees and authorizes the City Administrator/
5 City Clerk to issue purchase orders in accordance herewith.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
7 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
8 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
9 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of January, 1984.
