RESOLUTION NO. 5090
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
3 OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 463 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
4 OR BIDS FOR SANTA FE AVENUE (PACIFIC BOULEVARD
TO SOUTH BOUNDARY) AND SOTO STREET (VERNON
5 AVENUE TO SOUTH BOUNDARY) RESURFACING, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 463 OF THE CITY
6 OF VERNON
7 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
8 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 463 for Santa Fe Avenue
9 (PacificiBoulevard to south boundary) and Soto Street (Vernon
10 Avenue to south boundary) resurfacing; and
11 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
12 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
13 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
14 State law.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
16 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 463 is hereby approved by the
18 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
20 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
21 City of Vernon a copy of said contract No. 463.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
23 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
24 proposals or bids for Santa Fe Avenue (Pacific Boulevard to
25 south boundary) and Soto Street (Vernon Avenue to south boundary)
26 resurfacing, in accordance with Contract No. 463 and in
27 accordance with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general

circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice,
or to cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
4 places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of

38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis
Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in
the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at
4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 20th day
of March, 1984, and in accordance with Contract No. 463
approved by said City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of VernOn shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of March, 1984.
