RESOLUTION NO. 5092
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF LYNWOOD
PARK PROPERTY AS A PARK FOR THE BENEFIT OF
THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF VERNON
7 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon became eligible to apply
3 for a $20,000 grant allocation under the California parklands
9 Act of 1980 which $10,000 could best be used by the City of
19 Lynwood park Project, $5,000 by the City of Huntington Park
11 Project and $5,000 by the City of Bell Park Project; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 5040
13 adopted on September 6, 1983 approved the filing of applications
14 by the Cities of Lynwood, Huntington Park and Bell as agents
15 for the City of Vernon for state grant moneys pursuant to the
16 California parklands Act of 1980 for the Lynwood Park Project,
17 the Huntington Park Project and the Bell Park Project; and
18 WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 5059
19 adopted on November 1, 1983 approved and authorized the
20 execution of Joint Powers Agreements by and between the City
21 of Vernon and the Cities of Huntington Park and Bell for the
22 development and use of Huntington Park property and Bell park
23 property as parks for the benefit of the residents of the City
24 of Vernon.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
26 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
28 hereby approves the Joint Powers Agreement by and between the

1 City of Vernon and the City of Lynwood, a copy of which has been
2 presented to the City Council concurrently with this Resolution,
3 and the City Council hereby orders said Agreement to be received
4 and filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
6 hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute said Agreement for,. and
7 on behalf of, the City of. Vernon.
8
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
10 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
11 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of April, 1984.
