Resolution No. 5095 '~ '~ '.... 1 2 3 4 5 RESOLUTION NO. 5095 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON EXPRESSING ITS REGRET AT THE UNTIMELY PASSING OF ARTHUR KRAUSE AND OFFERING ITS SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCES TO HIS SURVIVING FAMILY 6 WHEREAS, Arthur Krause has been employed by Littlejohn- 7 Reuland Corporation which is located at 4575 Pacific Blvd., in 8 the City of Vernon for over 30 years and has been its President 9 for over four years; and 10 WHEREAS, Mr. Krause has been a member of the Vernon 11 Chamber of Commerce since 1957 and has served as an officer of 12 said Chamber of Commerce since 1979 and was installed as its 13 President on February 21, 1984; and 14 WHEREAS, the successful operation of local government 15 for the benefit of the people of the City of Vernon depends 16 upon the concerned leadership of civic minded persons; and 17 WHEREAS, nowhere has such community awareness been 18 more evident than with Arthur Krause who has for the past 30 19 years served his community in many ways in a prominent, 20 conscien~iousand capable manner; and 21 WHEREAS, Arthur Krause during his lifetime demonstrated 22 high ideals of public service, an abiding faith in the City of 23 Vernon, a never failing courtesy, and was always interested and 24 willing to cooperate in all matters pertinent to the public 25 welfare; and 26 WHEREAS, his charm, wit and genuine concern for his 27 fellowman was always a part of his dealings; and 28 WHEREAS, Arthur Krause has by his sincere and dedicated '~ ." . ""c .~ . . 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 3 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 service to Littlejohn-Reuland Corporation and the Vernon Chamber of Commerce served as an exemplar for his friends and adversaries alike; and WHEREAS, Arthur Krause passed away on March 18, 1984, and his untimely demise raises a chorus of regret from all the good men that he has known; and WHEREAS, the members of this City Council individually, collectively, and on behalf of the people of the City of Vernon, wish to express their regret at the untim~ly demise of Arthur Krause. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The members of this City Council individually, collectively and on behalf of the entire City, mourn the passing of Arthur Krause and wish to take this opportunity to convey their sympathy and sincerest condolences to his surviving family and especially to his daughter Deanna and her husband Lincoln and to his grandchildren Cheryl and Jeffrey. SECTION 2: The City Council wishes to take this opportunity to express its deep appreciation for Mr. Krause's dedication and tireless service to the people of the City of Vernon and to honor the memory of Arthur Krause as one of its outstanding contributors, as a good citizen and as a family man. SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the surviving family of Mr. Krause.
