RESOLUTION NO. 5098
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO MAKE AND
DELIVER A CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION TO COUNCILMEN
HILAR1IO GONZALES AND WILLIAM J. DAVIS
WHERE~S, the City Council of the City of Vernon in
Resolution No. 5082 appointed Hilario Gonzales and William J.
Davis as members of the City Council to serve a term of four (4)
years pursuant to Section 22843.5 of the Elections Code of the
State of California; and
WHEREAS, Section 22843.5 provides, in part, as follows:
..
. The person appointed, if any,
shall qualify and take office and serve
exactly as if elected at a municipal
election for the office."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
16 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Clerk shall immediately make
18 and deliver to Hilario Gonzales and William J. Davis a Certificate
19 of Election signed by the City Clerk and duly authenticated; that
20 the City Clerk shall also administer to Mr. Gonzales and Mr.
21 Davis the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitution
22 of the State of California and shall have them subscribe thereto
23 and file the same in the office of the City Clerk. Whereupon,
24 Mr. Gonzales and Mr. Davis shall be inducted into their
25 respective office to which they have been elected.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
27 and adoption of this Resolution and shall enter the same in the
28 book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a
1 minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
2 proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of
3 the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
