RESOLUTION NO. 5101
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
3 OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 465 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
4 OR BIDS FOR PAVEMENT STRIPING 1984-85, IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 465 OF THE CITY
5 OF VERNON
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 465 for Pavement Striping
8 1984-85; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
19 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
11 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
12 State law.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
14 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 465 is hereby approved by the
16 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
18 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
19 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 465.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
21 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
22 proposals or bids for Pavement Striping 1984-85, in accordance
23 with Contract No. 465 and in accordance with this Resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general
25 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
26 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice,
27 or to cause the same to be posted, in three of the most public
28 places in the City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of
1 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis
2 Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in
3 the lobby of the City Hall of the City of Vernon located at
4 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
6 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
7 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
8 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
9 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
10 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
11 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, vernon,
12 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 15th day
13 of May, 1984, and in accordance with Contract No. 465 approved by
14 said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
16 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
17 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
18 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of May, 1984.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
rWTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Vernon, hereinafter "Agency"
invites and will receive sealed proposals (GiGs) up to the hour of two
(2) o'clock p,m. on May 15, 1984, for the furnishin9 to said agency Cof
all transportation equipment, materials, supplies and services necessary
in order to provide traffic pavement striping 1984-85, Contract No. 465.
At said time, proposals will be publicly opened and announced at the
offices of the Agency. Said!bids shall conform to and be responsive to the
contract documents for sa i d work 'as heretofore provi ded by sa i d Agency and
w'ust be accompanied by the security referred to therein.
The governing body of the Agency reserves the right to reject any and
all bids,
Copies of the contract documents are on file and may be examined in the
office of the Agency located at:
4305 Santa Fe Avenue
Vernon, California 90058
Copies may be obtained from said office with a nonrefundable deposit
of $10.00 per set.
