RESOLUTION NO. 512.1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5)
NEW POLICE VEHICLES FROM MAURICE J. SOPP &
SON CHEVROLET IN HUNTINGTON PARK
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
Clerk, has recommended to the Finance Committee of the City of
Vernon by letter dated June 25, 1984, that five (5) new police
vehicles be purchased from Maurice J. Sopp & Son Chevrolet in
Huntington Park for the sum of Ten Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-
Nine Dollars and Seventy Cents ($10,579.70) per vehicle, not
including taxes; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on June 25, 1984,
authorized the purchase of five (5) new police vehicles in the
1984-85 fiscal year in .accordance with the recommendation of
Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that a purchase order be issued for the purchase of five (5) new
police vehicles from Maurice J. Sopp & Son Chevrolet in
Huntington Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council .of the City of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained herein
above are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves the issuance of a purchase 'order for the

2 Son Chevrolet in Huntington Park.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
5 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
6 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of June, 1984.
