RESOLUTION NO. 5141
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF S & W ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTORS, INC. FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL
MODERNIZATION, SOTO STREET AND 26TH STREET,
SANTA FE AVENUE AND FRUITLAND AVENUE, SANTA FE
AVENUE AND 55TH STREET IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 466 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
7 WHEREAS, Contract No. 466 of the City of Vernon was
8 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant
9 to Resolution No. 5131, and sealed bids were opened on
10 September 18, 1984; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Victor H. Vaits,
12 Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
13 Council under the date of September 25, 1984, recommending that
14 the contract for Traffic Signal Modernization, Soto Street and
15 26th Street, Santa Fe Avenue and Fruitland Avenue, Santa Fe
16 Avenue and 55th Street be executed with S & W Electrical
17 Contractors, Inc. on the basis of its bid in the sum of Fifty-
18 Two Thousand Two Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($52,230.00), being
19 the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
21 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22
23 does hereby award Contract No. 466, in accordance with the
24 recommendation of Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community
25 Services, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on
26 behalf of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the City
27
28 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders

1 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon
2 the receipt of an executed contract from S & W Electrical
3 Contractors, Inc. accompanied by all required bonds and
4 certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
6 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
7 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
8 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of October, 1984.
