RESOLUTION NO. 5149
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE RESURFACING WORK
PERFORMED ON SANTA FE AVENUE (FROM PACIFIC
BOULEVARD TO SOUTH BOUNDARY) AND SOTO STREET
(FROM VERNON AVENUE TO SOUTH BOUNDARY), IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 463 OF THE CITY
OF VERNON
7 WHEREAS, SULLY-MILLER CONTRACTING COMPANY was awarded
8 the Contract for the work of resurfacing Santa Fe Avenue (from
9 Pacific Boulevard to south boundary) and Soto Street (from
10 Vernon Avenue to south boundary), pursuant to Contract No. 463
11 of the City of Vernon; and
12 WHEREAS, Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community
13 Services, has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon
14 that said work has been completed, under date of October 11,
15 1984, and recommends that the work be accepted and payment be
16 made to the Contractor in accordance with the Agreement.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
18 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the work of resurfacing Santa Fe
20 Avenue (from Pacific Boulevard to south boundary) and Soto Street
21 (from Vernon Avenue to south boundary), pursuant to Contract No.
22 463 is hereby approved by the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: That the total contract amount,
24 including Extra Work Order No.1, is Two Hundred Nineteen
25 Thousand Two Hundred Sixty-Four Dollars and Seventy-Two Cents
26 ($219,264.72). That there is now due to the Contractor a final
27 partial payment totaling One Hundred Ninety-Seven Thousand Three
28 Hundred Thirty-Eight Dollars and Twenty-Five Cents ($197,338.25),

1 which should be paid at this time and the remaining ten percent
2 (10%) of the total Contract amount or the sum of Twenty-One
3 Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty-Six Dollars and Forty-Seven Cents
4 ($21,926.47) is payable thirty-five (35) days after the
5 adoption of this Resolution and the City Council of the City of
6 Vernon hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to
7 SULLY-MILLER CONTRACTING COMPANY and instructs the City Clerk to
8 file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
11 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
12 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of November, 1984.
