RESOLUTION NO. 5159
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF AN
INTERRUPTIBLE ENERGY AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES PROVIDING FOR
THE PURCHASE OF INTERRUPTIBLE ENERGY
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Water
7 Resources has available surPlus interruptible energy to sell to
8 ?ublic entities within the State of California; and
9 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is interested in buying
10 surplus interruptible energy from the Department of Water
11 Resources at prices less than the prices charged by Southern
12 California Edison Company; and
13 WHEREAS, the execution of this Interruptible Energy
14 Agreement would permit Vernon to purchase said sur?lus
15 interruptible energy.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
17 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
19 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
20 above are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby approves the Agreement, a copy of which has been presented
23 to the City Council concurrently with this Resolution and the
24 City Council hereby orders said Agreement to be received and
25 filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
h~reby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
2 hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution
3 and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
4 and effect.
5 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of January, 1985.
