RESOLUTION NO. 5160
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ESTABLISHING THE RATES FOR THE SALE
OF WATER IN THE CITY OF VERNON IN ACCORDANCE
WITH ORDINANCE NO. 942 AND REPEALING RESOLUTION
NO . 5075
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
7 Ordinance No. 942 on December 20, 1983; and
8 WHEREAS, said Ordinance amended Sections 25.1, 25.2,
9 25.3, 25.5, 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51 of the Code of the City of
10 Vernon, California 1959 to establish that the rates for the sale
11 of water in said City are to be set by resolution; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
13 Resolution No. 5075 on January 3, 1984; and
14 WHEREAS, Lewis R. Adams, the Director of Water, has
15 recommended by letter dated January 3, 1985, that the rates
16 established for water services be increased to reflect the
17 increased cost of providing said services and that the adjusted
18 rates become effective for the regular billing in February, 1985;
19 and
20 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
21 to establish new rates for the sale of water in the City of
22 Vernon in accordance with the recommendation of Lewis R. Adams,
23 Director of Water, and Ordinance No. 942 and to repeal Resolution
24 No. 5075.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
26 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City o~ Vernon

28 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained

1 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
3 does hereby establish the rates for the sale of water in the
4 City of Vernon pursuant to Sections 25.1, 25.2, 25.3, 25.5,
5 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51 of the Code of the City of Vernon,
6 California 1959 as follows:

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
4 hereby declares that the applicable rates contained in this
5 Resolution shall be effective for the first regular water
6 reading for monthly billing purposes in the month of February,
7 1985.

SECTION 4: That effective February, 1985 Resolution
9 No. 5075 is repealed.
10 SECTION 5:. The. City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
11 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
12 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
