JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MAYWOOD APPROVING AND ACCEPTING
NEGOTIATED EXCHANGE OF PROPERTY TAX REVENUES
RESULTING FROM REORGANIZATION OF TERRITORY IDENTIFIED AS
"REORGANIZATION 1-85, PARCELS 1 AND 2
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 99 of the Revenue and
Taxation Code, prior to the effective date of any jurisdictional
change the governing bodies of all agencies whose service areas
or service responsibilities would be altered by such change must
determine the amount of property tax revenues to be exchanged
between the affected agencies and approve and accept the nego-
tiated exchange of property tax revenues by resolution; but if
the affected agency is a special district, the Board of
Supervisors must negotiate on behalf of the district; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles, the City Council of the City of Vernon, and the City
Council of the City of Maywood have determined that the amount
of property tax revenue to be exchanged between their respective
agencies as a result of the reorganization proposal identified
as "Reorganization 1-85, Parcels 1 and 2," is as set forth
below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:

1. The negotiated exchange of property tax revenues
between the County of Los Angeles, the City of Vernon, and the
City of Maywood resulting from the reorganization identified as
"Reorganization 1-85, Parcels 1 and 2" is approved and
accepted.
2. The subject territory is presently exempt from
ad valorem taxation. Therefore, there shall be no transfer
of property tax revenue to the City of Vernon or to the City
of Maywood as a result of "Reorganization 1-85, Parcels 1 and
2." In the event the territory shall cease to be tax exempt,
this resolution for property tax revenue shall be renegotiated.
The provisions of Section 99 of the Revenue and Taxation Code
shall not have any application to any such renegotiation.

3. For fiscal years commencing on and after July 1,
1986, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional
change, whichever is later, all property tax revenue
received by the Consolidated Fire Protection District attri-
butable to "Parcel I" and "Parcel 2" of Maywood/Vernon
"Reorganization 1-85" shall be transferred to the County of
Los AnC}eles.
4. For fiscal years commencing on and after July 1,
1986, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional

change, whichever is later, all property tax revenue
received by the Los Angeles County Public Library attribu-
table to "Parcel 1" and Parcel 3" of Maywood/Vernon
"Reorganization 1-85" shall be transferred to the County of
Los Angeles.
The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Board
of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, the city
Council of the City of Maywood, and the City Council of
Vernon.

the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles and
the easterly line of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad
right of way, 80 feet wide, as shown on said map, said
intersection being a point in the common boundary between
the City of Vernon and the City of Maywood as same existed
on February 13, 1985; thence southerly along the boundary of

westerly line of said lot, said intersection being a point
in the common boundary between the City of Maywood and the
City of Vernon as same existed on February 13, 1985; thence
North 330 19' 45" East 25 feet along said parallel line to
the center line of Fifty-Second Drive (now known as 52nd
Drive), 50 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 7923

The City Councils of Vernon and Maywood adopted joint
Resolution Nos.~l~ and 3564 respectively to transfer
uninhabited territories in order to establish new common
boundaries as shown in Exhibit A and further described in
attached report.
Herewith for your consideration is the following evidence:
1. Posted Notice of Public Hearing to consider the
transfer of territories and the affidavit of posting.
2. Notice of Public Hearing as published in the Daily
Journal.
3. Report ,on Reorganization 1-84, Parcels 1,2 and 3.
In my opinion this evidence supports a finding that the
proposed transfer of territories is consistent with the
established rules and regulations for transferring territories.
Therefore it is recommended that a Resolution be adopted
to finalize the transfer and the Resolution be forwarded to
LAFCO for final recordation.

Honorable Members:
It is hereby recommended that the common boundary for the City of
Vernon and the City of Maywood located at Fruitland Avenue, District
Blvd., and 52nd Drive be adjl.ls,ted with a new boundaries to be on the
centerline of Fruitland Avenue and 52nd Drive and on District Blvd.
near Atlantic it will be placed on the south property line.
It is also recommended that authority be granted for the city attorney
attorney to prepare a resolution for said boundary adjustments.
