RESOLUTION NO. 5172
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
3 OF VERNON ESTABLISHING HEALTH AND PERMIT FEES
APPLICABLE TO ALL PERMITS GRANTED BY THE CITY
4 OF VERNON PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 11. 25, 13.7 AND
13.310F THE VERNON CITY CODE AND REPEALING
5 RESOLUTION NO. 5089
6 vlliEREAS, the Vernon City Code and, in particular,
7 Sections 11.25, IT~7'ahd 13-.3J thereof, provides for the
8 issuance of health permits; and
9 WHEREAS, Sections 11.25, 13 . 8 and 13.34 of the Vernon
10 City Code provides that the City Council of the City of Vernon
11 shall establish, by resolution, health permit inspection fees
12 for the various types of businesses and vehicles requiring
13 health permits; and
14 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
15 Resolution No. 5089 on March 6, 1984, establishing health permit
16 fees in accordance with said Code; and
17 WHEREAS, said fees established bv resolution are hereby
18 determined to be inadequate; and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon intends
20 to establish new fees as set forth herein.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
22 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
24 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
25 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
27 does hereby establish that the issuance fees and annual renewal
28 fees for permits granted by the City of Vernon, pursuant to
1 Section 13.7 of the Vernon City Code are as follows:

10 operating offal vehicle(s) in conjunction with and as a part of a
11 Vernon permitted Rendering Plant or Food Processing Establishment.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
13 does hereby establish that the issuance fees, annual renewal
14 fees and late fees for health permit inspections granted by
15 the City of Vernon pursuant to Section 11.25 of the Vernon City
16 Code are as follows:

(a) For Wholesale Food Vehicle - $21 per vehicle;
18 and
19
(b) ~here shall be added to and collected with the
20 health permit inspection fee a late fee equal to ten percent
21 (10 %) of the fee for all feeS that are delinquent for thirty (30)
22 days. For each additional month or fraction thereof in which
23 the delinquency continues an additional ten percent (10%)
24 late fee shall be collected. In no event shall the total late
25 fee charges exceed sixty percent (60%) of the health permit
26 inspection fee.
