RESOLUTION NO. 5179
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 467 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR BOYLE AND FRUITLAND AVENUE
RESURFACING, 26TH AND 46TH STREET STORM
DRAIN CONSTRUCTION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 467 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
City of Vernon Contract No. 467 for Boyle and Fruitland
Resurfacing, 26th and 46th Street Storm Drain Construction;
10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
11 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
12 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
13 State law.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
15 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 467 is hereby approved by the
17 City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
19 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
20 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 467.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
22 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
23 proposals or bids for Boyle and Fruitland Avenue Resurfacing,
24 26th and 46th Street Storm Drain Construction, in accordance with
25 Contract No. 467 and in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general
27 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon
28 the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause

1 the same to be posted., in three of the most public places in the
2 City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and
3 Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
4 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
5 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
6 in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
8 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
9 posting of said notice sha.l1 not be less than ten (10) days
10 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
11 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
12 received by the City of Vernon a.t the office of the City Clerk
13 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
14 California 90058-0805, until the hour of 2: 00 p.m. on the 16th
15 day of April, 1985, and. in accordance with Contract No. 467
16 approved by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
18 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
19 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Ci ty of Vernon, (herei nafter IIAgencyll)
invites and will receive sealed proposals (Bids) up to the hour of two (2)
o'clock p.m. on April 16, 1985 for the furnishing to said Agency of all
transportation, equipment, materials, supplies and services necessary in
order to provide for the Boyle and Fruitland Avenue Resurfacing, 26th and
46th Street Storm Drain Construction, Contract No. 467.
At said time, proposals will be publicly opened and announced at the
offices of the Agency. Said bids shall conform to and be responsive to the
contract documents for said work as heretofore provided by said Agency and
must be accompanied by the security referred to therein.
The governing body of the Agency reserves the right to reject any
and all bids.
Copies of the contract documents are on file and may be examined in the

Vernon, CA 90058
Copies may be obtained from said office with a nonrefundable deposit of
$10.00 per set.
