RESOLUTION NO. 5180
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING SCHEDULES II, III, IV AND
VII [EXHIBITS "A", liB II , "C", AND "F", RESPECTIVELY]
OF RESOLUTION NO. 5120, WHICH AMENDED RESOLUTION
NO. 4918 FIXING THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
EXPENSE ALLOWANCES
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5120 was adopted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on June 28, 1984, to be effective
on July 1, 1984; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5120 was previously amended by
Resolution Nos. 5134, 5139 and 5147 which were adopted by the
City Council of the City of Vernon on August 28, 1984,
September 4, 1984 and October 16, 1984, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon finds
it necessary (i) to amend Schedules II, III and IV [Exhibits
"A", "B"and "C", respectively] to provide for the creation of
a position of Secretary and (ii) to amend Schedule VII, Exhibit
"F", to provide for an increase in life insurance benefits as
set forth herein in accordance with the recommendation of
Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained herein-
above are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That Schedules II and III, Exhibits "A" and
"B", respectively, of Resolution No. 5120, shall be amended to
create the position of Secretary with the following salary scale
for said position:

SECTION 3: That Schedule IV, Exhibit "C", of
Resolution No. 5120 shall be amended to create the position of
Secretary as follows:
SECRETARY:
The Secretary in the Water Department shall serve
as the Secretary in the Light and Power Department and the
compensation for said position is included in the compensation
established for the position in the Water Department, Schedule
III.
SECTION 4: That Schedule VII, Exhibit "F", of
Resolution No. 5120, shall be amended to provide for an increase
in life insurance benefits for the position of City
AdministratorlCity Clerk as follows:
The City AdministratorlCity Clerk shall be provided an
increase in life insurance to equal the sum of $210,000.00.
SECTION 5: That in all other respects, Resolution Nos.
5120, as amended by Resolution Nos. 5134, 5139, and 5147 shall
remain in full force and effect and that the provisions in
Resolution No. 5120, as amended by Resolution Nos. 5134, 5139
and 5147 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is

1 and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
