RESOLUTION NO. 5185
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF VERNON PAVING COMPANY
FOR BOYLE AND FRUITLAND AVENUE RESURFACING, 26TH
AND 46TH STREET STORM DRAIN CONSTRUCTION IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 467 OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 467 of the City of Vernon was
7 approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant to
8 Resolution No. 5179, and sealed bids were opened on April 16,
9 1985; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Victor H. Vaits,
11 Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
12 Council under the date of April 22, 1985, recommending that the
13 contract for Boyle and Fruitland Avenue Resurfacing, 26th and
14 46th Street Storm Drain Construction, be executed with Vernon
15 Paving Company on the basis of its bid in the sum of Three
16 Hundred Fifty-Two Thousand Three Hundred Fifty-Two Dollars and
17 No Cents ($352,352.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting
18 the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
20 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
22 hereby award Contract No. 467, in accordance with the recommenda-
23 tion of Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services, and
24 authorizes the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the
25 city.

SECTION 2: All other bids are rejected and the <::ity
27 Treasurer is hereby directed to return to unsuccessful bidders
28 any cashier or certified checks deposited with said bids upon

1 the receipt of an executed contract from Vernon Paving Company,
2 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
5 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
6 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1985.
