RESOLUTION NO. 5199
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
3 OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 469 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
4 OR BIDS FOR FRUITLAND AVENUE SEWER (DOWNEY
ROAD TO MAYWOOD AVENUE), IN ACCORDANCE WITH
5 CONTRACT NO. 469 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
7 of the City of Vernon Contract No. 469 for Fruitland Avenue
8 Sewer (Downey Road to Maywood Avenue): and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
10 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
11 that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
12 State law.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
14 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Contract No. 469 is hereby approved by the
16 City Council of the City of Vernon.
17 SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
18 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
19 City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 469.
20' SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
21 hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
22 proposals or bids for Fruitland Avenue Sewer (Downey Road to
23 Maywood Avenue), in accordance with Contract No. 469 and in
24 accordance with this resolution.
25 SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
26 tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
27 City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
28 the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the

1 City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street
2 and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
3 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
4 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
[') in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
i hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
8 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
9 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
10 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
11 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
12 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
13 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 6th day of
14 August, 1985, and in accordance with Contract No. 469 approved
15 by said City.

SECTION 6:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in-full-force and effect.

NOTIC[ INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Vernon, (hereinafter IIAgencyll)
invites and will receive sealed proposals (Bids) up to the hour of
two (2) o'clock p.m. on August 6, 1985 for the furni'shing to said Agency
of all transportation, equipment, materials, supplies and services
necessary in order to provide for the Bandini Boulevard Resurfacing,
Downey Road to Ayers Avenue, Contract No. 470.
At said time, proposals will be publicly opened and announced
at the offices of the Agency. Said bids shall conform to and be responsive
to the contract documents for said work as heretofore provided by said
Agency and must be accompanied by the security referred to therein.
The governing body of the Agency reserves the right to reject
any and all bids.
Copies of the contract documents are on file and may be examined in
the office of the Agency located at:
4305 Santa Fe Avenue
Vernon, CA 90058
Copies may be obtained from said office with a nonrefundable deposit
of $10.00 per set.
