RESOLUTION NO. 5200
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 470 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR BANDINI BOULEVARD RESURFACING
(DOWNEY ROAD TO AYERS AVENUE), IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 470 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Ver~on Contract No. 470 for Bandini Boulevard
Resurfacing (Downey Road to Ayers Avenue); and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that said contract be awarded in accordance with applicable
State law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Contract No. 470 is hereby approved by the
City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of the
City of Vernon a copy of said Contract No. 470.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting sealed
proposals or bids for Bandini Boulevard Resurfacing (Downey
Road to Ayers Avenue), in accordance with Contract No. 470 and
in accordance with this Resolution.
SECTION 4: There being no newspaper of general circula-
tion printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the
City Clerk is hereby directed to post said notice, or to cause
the same to be posted, in three of the most public places in the

1 City of Vernon, to wit: The northwest corner of 38th Street and
2 Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and
3 Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the
4 City Hall of the City of Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
5 in said City.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
7 hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the first
8 posting of said notice shall not be less than ten (10) days
9 before the opening of the bids for the proposed contract. Said
10 notice shall provide that sealed proposals or bids will be
11 received by the City of Vernon at the office of the City Clerk
12 of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon,
13 California 90058, until the hour of 2:00 p.m., on the 6th day of
14 August, 1985, and in accordance with Contract No. 470 approved
15 by said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
17 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
18 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
19 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of July, 1985.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Vernon, (hereinafter
IIAgencyll) invites and will receive sealed proposals (Bids) up to the
hour of two (2) o'clock p.m. on August 6, 19H5 for the furnishing to

said Agency of all transportation, equipment, materials, supplies and
services necessary in order to provide for the Fruitland Avenue Sewer
(Downey Road to Maywood Avenue) Construction, Contract No. 469.
At said time, proposals will be publiclyopened.and announced at the
offices of the Agency. Said bids shall conform to and be responsive
to the contract documents for said work as heretofore provided by said
Agency and must be accompanied by the security referred to therein.
The governing body of the Agency reserves the right to reject any
and all bids.
Copies of the contract documents are on file and r.Jay be examined
