RESOLUTION NO. 5211
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE PROJECT
PLANNING AGREEMENT RESPECTING THE MEAD/MCCULLOGH-
VICTORVILLE/ADELANTO TRANSMISSION PROJECT
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
7 Resolution No. 5154 on December 18, 1984, which approved the
8 terms and conditions of a Project Planning Agreement between the
9 Department of Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles, the
10 cities of Anaheim, Azusa, Banning, Burbank, Colton, Glendale,
11 Pasadena, Riverside, and Vernon, the M-S-R Public Power Agency,
12 and the Western Area Power Administration (hereinafter "Parties"),
13 to conduct and provide for funding of Planning Work on a new
14 transmission facility between Southern Nevada and Southern
15 California and to conduct feasibility studies on a DC Alternative
16 to the AC transmission line originally considered by the Parties;
17 and
18 WHEREAS, a portion of the feasibility studies necessary
19 for the determination of the feasibility of the DC Alternative
20 has been completed and determined to be feasible; and
21 WHEREAS, the Parties wish to provide additional
22 funding to conduct further activities related to the continuation
23 of Planning Work.
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
25 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
26 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
27 hereby approves the Amendment No. 1 to the Project Planning
28 Agreement, Mead/McCullough-Victorville/Adelanto Transmission

Project, a copy of which has been presented to the City Council
concurrently with this Resolution, and the City Council hereby
orders said Amendment to be received and fliled by the City
Clerk.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
Amendment No.1 for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of September, 1985.
