RESOLUTION NO. 5216
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY FROM THE LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY
CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City AdministratorlCity
Clerk, by letter dated September 16, 1985, has recommended to
the City Council that property from the Light and Power Depart-
ment more particularly described in Exhibit "A" which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof is surplus to the needs of the
City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,
has recommended that the surplus property more particularly
described in the attached Exhibit "A" be disposed of pursuant
to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that the property more particularly described in the attached
Exhibit "A" be sold as surplus pursuant to Section 2.31 of the
Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of
the Government Code of the State of California, the City Council
of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
property more particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A"
is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: That the City AdministratorlCity Clerk is
hereby authorized to obtain bids pursuant to Section 2.31 of the

Vernon City Code for the sale of the property described in the
attached Exhibit "A" as surplus property.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of September, 1985.
