RESOLUTION NO. 5234
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY
RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 1986
6 WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in
7 the City of Vernon, California, on April 8, 1986; and
8 WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of the election it is
9 necessary for the City to request services of the County; and
10 WHEREAS, all necessary expenses in performing this
11 service shall be paid by the City of Vernon.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
13 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That pursuant to the provisions of Section
15 22003 of the Elections Code of the State of California, this
16 City Council requests the Board of Supervisors of the County to
17 permit the County Election Department to prepare and furnish to
18 the City for use in conducting the election the computer record
19 of the names and addresses of all eligible registered voters
20 in the City in order that the City may print labels to be
21 attached to self-mailer sample ballot pamphlets; and will also
22 furnish to the City printed indices of the voters to be used
23 by the precinct board at the polling place; and will make
24 available to the City additional election equipment and
25 assistance according to state law.
26 SECTION 2: That the City shall reimburse the County
27 for services performed when the work is completed and upon
28 presentation to the City of a properly approved bill.

SECTION 3: That the City Clerk is directed to forward
2 without delay to the Board of Supervisors and to the County
3 Election Department, each a certified copy of this resolution.
4 SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
5 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
6 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
7 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 1985.
