RESOLUTION NO. 5240
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING SCHEDULES VI AND VII,
EXHIBITS "E" AND "Flf, OF RESOLUTION NO. 5197,
WHICH AMENDED RESOLUTION NO. 4918 FIXING
THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF
SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN EXPENSE
ALLOWANCES
7 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5197 was adopted by the City
8 Council of the City of Vernon on June 27,
on July 1, 1985; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5197 was previously
Resolution Nos. 5213, adopted on September 24, 1985, 5226,
adopted on November 19, 1985, and 5227, adopted on December
13 1985; and
14 WHEREAS, Schedule VI, Exhibit "E", of Resolution No.
15 5197 provides for the position and salary scale of the
16 Captain and Lieutenant in the Police Department; and
17 WHEREAS, Schedule VII, Exhibit "F", of Resolution
18 5197 provides for the position and salary scale
Administrator/City Clerkin the City Administrator/City Clerk
Department; and
WHEREAS, the Council Council of the City of Vernon
intends to (i) establish a new salary scale to provide for an
increase for the positions of Chief, Captain and Lieutenant
the Police Department; (ii) change the term "living expense
.. allowance" as adopted in Resolution No. 5227 'to "expense

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
2 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
3 SECTION 1: That the City
4 does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
5 hereinabove are 'true and correct.
6 SECTION 2: That effective December
7 VI, Exhibit "E", Page E-l, of Resolution No. 5197, shall be
8 amended as set forth in Exh'ibit "1", which is attached hereto
9 and made a part hereof as though fully set forth at length.
10 SECTION 3: That Schedule VII, Exhibit "Fit,
11 Resolution No. 5197, shall be amended as follows:
12 (1) Page F-4, line 24, shall be amended
13 follows:
(f) An expense allowance of $300.00.
(2) Page F-4 shall be amended to
16 subsection as follows:
(g) The City shall open an IRA Account and
deposit the sum of $2,000 effective January 1, 19~6, and said
$2,000 shall be deposited each and every year thereafter on or
about January 1.
SECTION 4: That in all other respects, Resolution No.
5197, as amended by Resolution Nos.
remain in full force and effect and that the provisions in
Resolution .Nos. 5197, 52l3, 5226 and 5227 not consistent
hereby repealed.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of
2 hereby directed to certify to the passage of this
3 and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force
4 effect.
