RESOLUTION NO. 5241
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ESTABLISHING THE RATES FOR THE SALE
OF WATER IN THE CITY OF VERNON IN ACCORDANCE
WITH ORDINANCE NO. 942 AND REPEALING RESOLUTION
NO. 5160
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Ordinance No. 942 on December 20, 1983; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance amended Sections 25.1, 25.2,
25.3, 25.5, 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51 of the Code of the City of
Vernon, California 1959 to establish that the rates for the sale
of water in said City are to be set by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5160 on January 8, 1985; and
WHEREAS, Lewis R. Adams, the Director of Water, has
recommended by memo dated December 26, 1985, that the rates
established for water services be increased to reflect the
increased cost of providing said services and that the adjusted
rates become effective for the regular billing in February 1986;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
to establish new rates for the sale of water in the City of
Vernon in accordance with the recommendation of Lewis R. Adams,
Director of Water, and Ordinance No. 942 and to repeal Resolution
No. 5075.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
3 does hereby establish the rates for the sale of water in the
4 City of Vernon pursuant to Sections 25.1, 25.2, 25.3, 25.5,
5 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51 of the Code of the City of Vernon,
6 California 1959 as follows:

The charge for all water used shall be at the rate
shown in item 1.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby declares that the applicable rates contained in this
Resolution shall be effective for the first regular water
reading for monthly billing purposes in the month of February
1986.
SECTION 4: That effective February 1986 Resolution No.
5160 is repealed.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
