RESOLUTION NO. 5252
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT TO THE OFFICES OF THIS CITY
THAT WERE TO BE ELECTED ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8,
1986

6 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 22843.5 or 22844 of the
7 Elections Code of the ~tate of California, as of 5:00 p.m. on
8 January 30, 1986, only one person has been nominated .for each
9 office in this City and that Section 22843.5 and 22844 of the
10 Elections Code allows one of the following courses of action to
11 be taken by the City Council:

1. Appoint to the office the person who has been
13 nominated;
14
2. Ap90int to the office any eligible voter if
15 no one has been nominated;
16
3. Hold the election if either no one or only
17 one person has been nominated; and
18 WHEREAS, a notice was posted on February 5, 1986, and
19 a notice was published on February 12, 1986, in a newspaper of
20' general circulation pursuant to law.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
22 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
23 SECTION 1: That pursuant to Section 22843.5 and 22844
24 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the following
25 action is being taken:

SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
