A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE DESERET GENERATION
AND TRANSMISSION CO-OPERATIVE ("DESERET")
WHEREAS, Deseret has available surplus energy to sell
to public entities within the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is interested in buying
surplus energy from Deseret at prices less than the prices
ct-.arged by Southern Cal i forni a Edison Company; and
WHEREAS, the e>:ecution of this Agreement would permit
the City of Vernon to purchase said surplus nonfirm energy..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

That the Ci t y Counc il of the Ci t y of
Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
E~QIIQ~_6:
That the City Council of the City of
Vernon hereby approves the Deseret - Vernon Economy Energy
Agreement, a copy of which has been presented to the City
Council concurrently with this Resolution and the City Council
hereby orders said Agreement to be received and filed by the
City Clerk.
E~QIIQ~_~:
That the City Council of the City of
Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute
said Agreement fClr, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
fi~!;IIg~L~: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and
