RESOLUTION NO. 5291
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN CONSOLIDATION WITH THE
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL EIECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID
CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 12th DAY OF AUGUST, 1986,
FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS
OF SAID CITY OF CERTAIN QUESTIONS RELATING TO
SALARIES AND COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN ELECTED
AND APPOINTED OFFICERS AND CERTAIN EMPLOYEES
OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the law, the
Citv Council of the City of Vernon has by Resolution No. 5286
called a special municipal election to be held on the 12th day
of August, 1986, for the submission to the qualified electors
of said City a proposition for the issuance of General
Obligation Bonds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon also
desires to submit t.o the qualified electors of said City at
said election the questions hereinafter set forth.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to the requirements of the law of
the State of California, th.ere shall. be, and there is hereby,
called and ordered held in the City of Vernon, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, on.Tuesday, the 12th day of
August, 1986, a special election of the qualified electors of
said City to be held in consolidation with the special
municipal election of said City to be held on said date
pursuant to said Resolution No. 5286.
Section. 2. The election shall be conducted wholly by
mail in the manner provided in Chapter Sof Division 2. (com-
mencing withSectio.n 1340) of the Elections Code of the State
of California. The propositions hereinafter'setfor.th to be
submitted to theV'oters of the City may be submitted to the
voters at such election together with such other propositions
as may be determined by the City Clerk.

Section 3. On the.ballot to be issued at said special
election, in. addition to any other matter required by law,
there shall be printed substantially. the following

Section 4. The measure to be voted .on at said .specia1
election called by"iieso1ution No. 5286 shall be designated as
Proposition A on the ballot.
Section 5. Notice of the time and place of holding said
election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized,
instructed and directed to give such further and additio.nal notice
of said election, in time, form and manner as required by law.
Section 6. In all other particulars, the election shall
be held and the votes canvassed pursuant to law for special

Section 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this resolution, shall enter the same in the book
of original resolutions of said City and shall make a ltI.inute entry
of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City. Council of said City, ~n the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.

Section 8. This resolution shall be published once a
week for two (2) succeeding weeks in a newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published in said City or posted in three
public places in the City.
Section 9. The Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles is hereby requested to permit the County Registrar
to provide the City with an official list of the registered voters
of the City for use in said special municipal election.
Section 10. This resolution shall take effect
immediately.
