RESOLUTION NO. 5300 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNOR APPROVING THE CITY CLERK' S APPOINTMENT OF
A VOTERS CANVASSING BOARD FOR THE SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTIm TO BE HELD m TUFSlAY, AUGUST
12, 1986
WHEREAS, a special municipal election will be held and con-
ducted in the Ci ty of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, California, on
Tuesday, August 12, 1986; and
WHEREAS, said election will be conducted wholly by use of
mailed ballots; and
WHEREAS, Section 22930.5 of the Electiqns Code of the State
of California provides that the City Clerk may appoint a Canvassing
Board to count the votes cast by absent voters in accordance with
Section 1401 of the Elections Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, any person named to serve on said Canvassing Board
will waive any claim to compensation for such services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLafS:
SECTION 1:
That pursuant to Section 22930.5 of the
Elections Code'of the State of California the City Clerk has
appointed a Voters Canvassing Board by posting Notice of Appointment
of Canvassing Board, said Notice is attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
and incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at
length and said Voters Canvassing Board is hereby approved.
aECTION 2:
That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 15th day of July, 1986.

NOTICE OF APPOINTMEm.' OF CANVASSING BOARD
I, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Clerk of the City of Vernon
do appoint the following named individuals to serve as a Canvassing
Board to canvass absentee ballots for the Special Municipal Election
of the City of Vernon, to be held on August 12, 1986.
The canvassing will commence at 9: 00 a .m. on
August 1.3, 1986, at the City Hall, City Clerk's Office, 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, Vernon, California.
