A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A POWER SALE AGREEMENT BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE DEPARTMENT
OF WATER RESOURCES OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
( II DWR II )
WHEREAS, the DWR i sengaged in the operati on of the
7 St'ate Water ReSOL\rCeS Development System pursui\nt to th~ laws
8 the State of California, including the generation, transmi s!i$i on,
9 sale and purchase Of electric power and energy; and
10
WHEREAS, the DWR has surplus capacity and enitrgy
11 available for sale in the short-term; and
12
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has provi.ded notice to
13 Edison that it intends to operi\te as .a nonintegrated reSOurce
14 approx imately 27 MW; and
15
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon believes that the DWR. is
16 able to meet its needs and concerns in Ci prudent and reliable
17 manner.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

21 Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
22 herei nabove are true and correct.

~sgI!Q~_~: That the City Coun.cil Of the City of
24 Vernon hereby approves the Power Sale Agreement, a copy of
25 which has been presented to the City Council concurrently with
26
this
Resolution and the City Council hereby orders said
21 Ag.....eement to be received and -filed by the City Clerk..

Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute
said Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

certify to the pas$age of this Resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and ef-Fect.
