A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGR~EMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE UTAH POWER & LIGHT
COMPANY ("UTAH") FOR THE PURCHASE OF NONFIRM
ENERGY
WHEREAS, Utah has available Sl.lrplus energy to sell to
6 public entities within the State of California; and

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon is interested in buying
8 surplus energy from Utah at prices less than the prices charged
9 by Southern California Edison Company; and
WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement woulc;:l permit
11 the City of Vernon to purchase said surplus nonfirm energy.

13 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

That the City Council of the City of
15 Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
16 hereinabove are true and correct.

That the City Council of the City of
18 Vernon hereby approves the Service Agreement by and between Utah
19 and the City of Vernon, a copy of which has been presented to
20 the City Council concurrently with this Resolution and the City
21 Council hereby orders said Agreement to be received and filed by
22 the City Clerk.

That the City Council of the City of
24 Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute
25 said Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City .of Vernon.
