RESOLUTION NO. 5337
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING SECTION 19 SUBSECTION (e),
AND EXHIBIT "A", PAGE 13, OF RESOLUTION NO.
5294 WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN
EXPENSE ALLOWANCES
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5294 was adopted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on June 26, 1986, to be effective
on July 1, 1986; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5294 was previously amended by
Resolution No. 5313, adopted by the City Council of the City of
Vernon on September 2, 1986; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
considered the performance of the City Administrator/City Clerk
on his annual review date for the purposes of considering a merit
increase: and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon intends
to establish a new salary scale to provide for a merit increase
for the position of City Administrator/City Clerk in the City
Administrator/City Clerk Department and to provide for additional
benefits as set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That effective October 12, 1986, Exhibit
II A" , page 13, of Resolution No. 5294, shall be amended to

establish the following salary scale for the position of City
Administrator/City Clerk:
City Administrator/City Clerk $10,374.00 per month
SECTION 3: That effective October 12, 1986, Section 19,
subsections (e)(4) (page 23, lines 23-24) and (e)(6) (page 24,
line 1) of Resolution No. 5294, shall be amended as follows:
(4) Twelve (12) days of executive leave to be used
prior to June 30, 1987:
(6) An expense allowance of $500.00 per month;
SECTION 4: That effective October 12, 1986, subsections
(e)(8) through (e) (11) shall be added to Section 19 of Resolution
No. 5294 as follows:
(8) Any unused vacation and/or executive leave
days off can be carried over from year-to-year for a maximum of
two (2) years;
(9) The City shall purchase a membership in the
California Country Club for him;
(10) The City shall pick up his portion of the
automobile insurance:
(11) The City shall reduce the number of years to
repay military buy back to two (2) years;
SECTION 5: That in all other respects, Resolution No.
5294, as amended by Resolution No. 5313, shall remain in full
force and effect and the provisions in Resolution Nos. 5294 and
5313 not consistent with or in conflict with this Resolution are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is

1 hereby directed to certify to the passage of this Resolution and
2 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
3 effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of October, 1986.
