A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY FROM THE WATER DEPARTMENT PURSUANT
TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
Clerk, by letter dated March 5, 1987, recommended to the Finance
Committee that a 1963 Tractor, No. GJS-307988, is surplus to the
needs of the Water Department due to an inability to maintain due
to poor availability of parts, and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the purchasing Agent, has
recommended that the said surplus property be disposed of pur-
suant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that the 1963 Tractor, No. GJS-307988, be sold as surplus pur-
suant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That in accordance with Section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the 1963
Tractor, GJS-307988,
is surplus to the needs of the Water
Department of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That the City Administrator/City Clerk is
hereby authorized to obtain bids pursuant to Section 2.31 of the
Vernon City Code for the sale of the 1963 Tractor, No. GJS-
307988, as surplus property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
